Something about the weather turning warm gets me in the mood to listen to some good rock music. I think it’s the fact that I start wearing sun glasses and driving with the windows down, but whatever it is I swap out some of my electronica discs for rock. Pink Floyd, Led Zeppelin, Rush and Van Halen are all staples, but there are plenty of other good groups I mix in there. I have to say though, I’m on a huge Rush kick lately. Their new album (Snakes and Arrows) is really solid, so that could be part of the reason why I’ve been going back and checking out more of their stuff. Moving Pictures has to be one of my favorite albums.. I mean it’s got YYZ, Tom Sawyer, and Limelight on it. YYZ by itself is enough to make it a fantastic album.

This is what I really want though. I’ve always kind of had a thing for the Talking Heads since my dad introduced me to Speaking in Tongues. Sadly my collection is sorely lacking in music by them… Honestly my collection is sorely lacking a lot of good music, and not just rock. There is plenty of essential jazz I need to fill in as well. One thing at a time I suppose.
